Redemptive Investing Landscape
Grounded in a Biblical theology of stewardship, we start with the "why" before the "how." What does it mean to steward capital as a follower of Jesus, and where does angel investing fit within that?

In this technical core of the curriculum, we unpack the key elements of a deal, how funds are structured, and the mechanics that every private market investor needs to know.

From theory to practice, we work through a full diligence framework, evaluate real companies, and learn what it means to be a value-add investor after the check clears.
What to Expect
Most investors with the capacity for private markets never participate. This is not because they lack resources, but because they lack formation. Angel investing and early-stage venture capital require a different kind of literacy: one that goes beyond spreadsheets to include judgment, relationships, and a clear sense of why you're deploying capital in the first place.
The Brightwater Education Cohort is built for that. Over six weeks, a small cohort of 10–12 investors moves through the fundamentals of private markets together: from asset classes and fund structures to deal mechanics and due diligence, all grounded in Biblical theology of stewardship. The cohort ends not with a certificate, but with a real decision: participants pool capital and make a live investment together at the Brightwater Angels Quarterly Pitch.
